 Product Description

This First Day Cover commemorates the 31st Anniversary of the last flight of the Wellington 31 March, 1953. The image by aviation artist John Young, depicts air test 425 Sqdn. RCAF in Yorkshire late Summer 1942. Because the only remaining Vickers Wellington is permanently on display in the Bomber Command Museum, this cover was flown in Vickers Varsity T1 WL679, the lineal descendant of the Wellington on a trials sortie from the Royal Aeronautical Establishment, Farnborough. Personaly Signed by:
Captain: Sqdn. Ldr. C.J.M. Wilcock RAF
