This First Day Cover commemorates the 30th Anniversary of the breaking of the London to Capetown & return record by Canberra 19 December, 1953. This image by aviation artist John Young, depicts Canberra of No. 45 Sqdn. approaching Tengah 1962. This envelope was flown in Canberra T4, WH849 of No. 231 Operational Conversion Unit on a routine training flight from Royal Air Force Wyton to Royal Air Force Cranwell and back to Royal Air Force Wyton, overflying Manby which in December 1953 was the home of the RAF Flying College and the Record-Breaking Canberra B2 WH699, Aries IV.
