This First Day Cover commemorates the first flight of the Handley Page Halifax - 25 October, 1939. The image by aviation artist John Young, depicts the homeward bound Halifax of No. 405 Squadron RCAF crossing the Wash, October 1943. This envelope was flown from RAF Abingdon on a full test flight aboard Jaguar XX 962 of No. 17 Squadron RAF on completion of major servicing. Personally signed by:
