L/E of 50 Artist Proofs S/N by the Artist Paper Size: 30" x 25"
Plane Type: Piper J-3 Cub
The Piper J-3 "Cub" seen rising from Marlboro Airport is one of about 20,000 such machines, most of which were built between '39 and '46. There was such a majority of Cubs among the total light-plane fleet in the country that the name "Cub" was used loosely to refer to all single-engine civil aircraft. The artist is seen in this painting, on his first solo flight, in the fall, 1968. PLANE JUNKIE - Autumn Gold by Burt Mader (Piper J-3 Cub)
