Aviation artist Domenic DeNardo has been fascinated with airplanes since he was a child growing up in Providence, Rhode Island. During World War II, he was obsessed with drawing war planes that flew from nearby airfields; F4U Corsairs, P-47 Thunderbolts, etc. His interest became more fully realized some 13 years later when he earned his private pilots license and subsequently purchased the first of five airplanes that he would own.

DeNardo received his formal art training at the Rhode Island School of Design and he also studied engineering at the University of Rhode Island. His Illustrations have been widely published in periodicals, including Aviation Week & Space Technology, Time, the Wall Street Journal, Business & Commercial Aviation, Air Transport World and Commuter Air. In 1992 Mr. DeNardo proudly accepted the Bob Stacy Craftperson Award for artistic excellence and dedication from the Advertising Club of Greater Boston. DeNardo's aviation paintings have been selected for exhibition in the EAA Air Adventure Museum, Oshkosh, WI; the SimuFlite International Gallery, Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport, TX; the New England Air Museum, Windsor Locks, CT; the T.F. Green State Airport, the Providence Art Club and the Tsetse Gallery Veterans Show of Providence, RI and the WSBETV Channel 36 Art Gallery. Bennigan Sullivan Prize from the Providence Art Club, the Peoples' Choice Award from the Cranston Cultural Arts Show of Rhode Island, and the Award of Distinction from SimuFlite/ Flying Magazine Horizons of Flight competition.

Domenic with his family have enjoyed many flying adventures throughout the United States. In 1995, in his Beechcraft A-36 Bonanza, he participated in a formation flight of 132 Beechcraft airplanes from Rockford, Illinois to Oshkosh, WI. The flight was subsequently recorded as the largest general aviation formation flight in history by the National Aeronautics Association of Washington, D.C. representing the U.S.A. and the Federation Aeronautique Internationale.
