A cub owner, participating in the annual "Sentimental Journey" Fly-In (Lock Haven, PA) enjoys a favorite trip, viewing the town of Hyner, 22 miles northwest of Piper Memorial Airport. The time of day indicates that it's time to start the return trip. By the time this pilot gets back, the ridge-line will be blotting out the last of the days sunlight across the field. Piper know-it-alls will understand the tail number's significance. Two-two-eight-two mike was the last J-3 Cub Piper built (1947). The number was reassigned a few years ago, and now adorns a hot-air balloon, possibly an even slower aircraft than the cub! PLANE JUNKIE - Evening Joyride by Burt Mader (Piper J-3 Cub)
