Squadron Leader Geoffrey Wellum served with RAF No. 92 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. On September 11, 1940, 92 Squadron was in one of many air battles defending Britain from the Luftwaffe. In this depiction, Wellum attacks Heinkel 111 bombers and Bf 109Es headed for the English coast; he would shoot down one of the bombers on this day.
