Space Craft: Apollo 11
On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in the Apollo 11 Lunar Module "Eagle" separated from Michael Collins in the Command/Service Module Columbia. The spacecraft was checked out in preparation to make the descent to the lunar surface. They were approximately 234,000 miles away from earth. This artwork shows both of the Apollo 11 spacecraft, "Eagle" and Command Module "Columbia" in lunar orbit.
