A crippled B-17 returns to Chelveston, England on its last mission. She has fired a red flare indicating wounded aboard. The aircraft itself is also in bad shape with two engines shot out, one on fire and only one of the main landing gear down. The crew of "Ole" Miss Destry watches. "Ole" Miss ended the war having flown 138 missions.
