In August 1940, a flight of No. 615 Squadron Hurricane Mk Is heads out over the English Channel to intercept an incoming force of German bombers. The near Hurricane is flown by Pilot Officer Anthony Truran. On August 15, Truran was attacked in this aircraft and forced to return to RAF Kenley with leg wounds and a heavily damaged aircraft.
