Product Description
This First Day Cover commemorates the first Bomber Command Operation over Germany 3 September, 1939: The First Leaflet Raid. The image by aviation artist John Young, depicts Armstrong Whitworth Whitney of No. 515 Squadron over the Ruhr September 3rd, 1939. This envelope was flown on a training flight in Nimrod MK RI, XW665, of 51 Squadron, from RAF Wyton to RAF Manson.
